Navacqs has been around since 1987. For a long time, every order came in by fax, email or phone. In 2012, we took our first step online with verzegelingenshop.nl, a webshop for the Dutch market. This is the story of that first step, and of how it grew into the webshop you are looking at today.
A leap of faith
Ronald Weterings led Navacqs for many years and is still a major shareholder today. He remembers the start well:
“Back then, we did everything by fax, email and phone, even the smallest orders. That took a lot of time. A webshop was the logical next step, even though there was hardly anything online for seals at the time. It was a bit of a gamble whether it would work. Building the website took quite some effort. Tiered pricing and product variants were still new territory for web developers. Once the site went live, the tension rose. We kept refreshing the inbox, hoping an online order would come in. After a week, it finally did, and that called for a small celebration. From that moment on, things started rolling.”
From one webshop to one platform
The Dutch webshop focused on seals and locks. In 2015, a second webshop followed on navacqs.nl, with a wider range that also included lashing straps, dunnage bags and container lashing equipment. For years, both sites ran side by side. In 2025, after 13 years, verzegelingenshop.nl was merged into Navacqs. One webshop made it easier to work efficiently and keep improving the service.
Online in three languages
The latest step is the webshop you are visiting now. Built entirely in house, it brings the full range together in Dutch, English and German. What started with a Dutch webshop and a constantly refreshed inbox is now a platform where customers across Europe can order directly. The way of working has stayed the same: personal contact, fast delivery and people who know the products.
