Easy to weld to ship's deck or construction. Makes the Breech Base Twistlock BF-66 and the Lashing Eye LP-21 removable
A deck socket is welded permanently onto a deck, after which a twistlock or lashing eye is fitted into it. When they are not needed, they are simply removed. This keeps the deck of a ship, pontoon or offshore platform free from protruding parts. It works well where containers and loose cargo such as machinery are carried alternately. The deck sockets are intended for maritime use and are not suitable for road transport.
The Deck Socket DF-31 works with the Dovetail Twistlock BF-11 and the Lashing Eye LP-91-45. Both slide into the socket from the side. With the Breech Base Deck Socket DF-66, the Twistlock BF-66 and the Lashing Eye LP-21 are inserted from above and locked with a quarter turn. This allows them to be used in four directions. Top entry works well where space is limited and makes the DF-66 suitable for flush mounting, for example in a ship or pontoon.
Both deck sockets are made of SCW480 cast steel, with a breaking strength of 500 kN (approx. 50 t). The primer coating protects against corrosion and does not need to be removed before welding.
