The traditional version is the lead seal. These round seals have a thickness of approximately 5 mm and are available in two diameters: 8 mm and 10 mm. They are widely used in technical applications such as gas, water, and electricity meters. By threading sealing wire through the seal and crimping it closed with sealing pliers, a reliable and tamper-evident closure is created. Lead seals are supplied in 1 kg bags and offer a robust solution where durability and reliability are essential.
Plastic lead seals are a modern alternative to the traditional lead version. Made from high-quality polystyrene, they have a standard diameter of 9 mm. A key advantage is the availability in multiple colours such as red, yellow, green, and orange, as well as neutral shades like black, white, and grey. The colour coding makes the seals highly visible and easily identifiable, improving inspection efficiency.
For situations where speed and convenience are important, hand-closing seals offer the perfect solution. Unlike traditional seals, no sealing plier is required — the seal simply clicks shut by hand. This makes them ideal for high-volume sealing environments or situations where tools are not readily available. The quick and easy application supports efficient workflows.
Rolblik seals are especially common in Belgium and are also used by Dutch customs authorities. This sealing method requires a special tool that rolls the sealing wire tightly into the metal seal, locking it securely in place. Rolblik seals are designed for applications where maximum tamper resistance is required and where seals must only be broken in a controlled environment.
Aluminium lead seals are designed for heavy-duty and long-term use. The strong aluminium material is resistant to extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Combined with stainless steel sealing wire, these seals provide a highly durable solution for outdoor or long-term sealing applications. They are widely used in industrial settings and long-term storage.
For enhanced identification and tamper protection, lead seals can be customised with an engraved logo or text. The sealing plier’s dies are engraved with your chosen design (up to six characters). When the seal is crimped, this engraving is pressed directly into the seal surface, creating a unique and traceable mark that helps prevent fraud and misuse.
