On a ship, at a terminal or in a depot, containers need to stay in place, even with swell, wind and high stacks. Navacqs supplies twistlocks, deck sockets, corner castings, bridge fittings, lashing eyes and lashing chains for this purpose. Technical drawings in PDF and STP format are available for most components.
On board, containers are stacked on top of each other and secured to the deck. Between two containers sits the Intermediate Twistlock IF-51 or the Semi Automatic Twistlock IF-55. On deck, the Dovetail Twistlock BF-11 and the Breech Base Twistlock BF-66 fit into a deck socket. For empty containers in a depot, there is the Depot Stacker IF-91.
Repairing a container or building a custom steel structure requires corner castings. These allow the structure to be lifted, stacked and connected using the same components as a standard shipping container.
Besides the container itself, the cargo also needs to be secured, inside a container or on an open deck. Machinery and steel structures are secured with a lashing chain and tension lever to lashing eyes. These are available with breaking strengths from 4 t to 67 t.
Containers placed side by side, on board or ashore, are connected to each other with bridge fittings. Units and structures with standard corner fittings can be anchored to each other in the same way.

Shipping containers have a standardised corner fitting at all eight corners, in line with ISO 1161. Twistlocks, bridge fittings and other lashing components engage with these fittings. As a result, standard components fit virtually any ISO container, whatever its length or type. Where corner fittings are damaged or non-standard, a check beforehand is advisable.
