The U-frame lashing eye (D-ring) LP-91-45 is designed for the professional securing of heavy loads in the maritime and industrial sectors. Thanks to the high breaking strength of 36 tons and its robust design, this lashing eye is suitable for intensive use under demanding conditions. The U-shaped D-ring ensures stable load distribution and prevents shifting or damage to the cargo during transport.
The LP-91-45 lashing eye is specially developed for placement in the Deck Socket DF-31. This base plate is commonly found on ship decks or in constructions where twistlocks are also used, such as the Dovetail Twistlock BF-11. When the lashing eye is not needed, it can be easily removed so the deck remains multifunctional and free of obstacles. This makes the system ideal for alternating use with containers, chains or tensioning straps.
Installing the LP-91-45 lashing eye is straightforward. It is inserted from the side into the Deck Socket DF-31 and is locked by the rear section in the floor plate. This ensures the eye can safely take load in one direction. During installation, it is important to consider the load direction of the DF-31 so that the load direction of the lashing eye is correctly aligned with the intended use. The lashing eye is suitable for horizontal and vertical loading, including on vehicles or installations with limited space.
The lashing eye is made of high-quality steel and finished with a corrosion-resistant primer. This gives the LP-91-45 excellent resistance to corrosion and makes it suitable for heavy maritime use. With a working load limit (WLL) of 18 tons and a breaking strength of 36 tons, this lashing eye is a strong and reliable choice for securing heavy loads.
A lashing eye (D-ring) is an attachment point used to secure cargo with straps, chains or cables. The eye is mounted on a deck, floor or structure and forms the anchor point for lashing.
Lashing eyes are used in transport, shipping and industry to prevent cargo from shifting during movement.
For example, machinery or structures on a ship are secured to lashing eyes in the deck using chains.
A removable lashing eye is used when the attachment point isn't always needed. The eye can be fitted during use and removed again afterward.
You see this, for example, on ship decks where containers are transported at times and loose cargo at others. The lashing eye is only fitted when something needs to be secured.
This keeps the surface flat and free of obstructions.
The lashing eye is placed in a base plate welded to the deck or frame. With this type, the eye is slid into the base plate from the side.
Under load, the eye rests against a fixed edge in the base plate. This keeps it firmly in place and transfers the force properly.
The placement direction also determines the load direction, so mounting needs to be aligned correctly beforehand.
A U-frame lashing eye is used when the pulling force mainly comes from one direction. Thanks to its shape and placement, the load is absorbed in a fixed direction.
This type is often used for:
securing cargo on ship decks
situations with predictable pulling force
applications where a simple, sturdy solution is sufficient
The design is simple and suitable for intensive use.
