When transporting goods, it is essential that the cargo remains securely in place. Dunnage bags from Navacqs provide an effective solution for filling empty spaces inside containers and trailers. They prevent goods from shifting during transport, thereby avoiding damage. Navacqs offers two types of dunnage bags: CargoSecure and CargoPlus (level 1). Each type is designed for specific transport conditions and provides reliable protection for a wide range of cargo.
Load securing
When loading a container or trailer, empty spaces often occur between pallets or products. If these spaces are not filled, the cargo can shift during transport. This not only causes damage to goods but also creates a safety risk. By using dunnage bags, the load is held firmly in place. The bags are placed between the cargo and inflated with an air gun. They fill the gaps and distribute pressure evenly, keeping the cargo stable and secure throughout the journey.
Level 1 dunnage bags
The CargoPlus dunnage bags from Navacqs are certified as level 1 and suitable for medium duty applications. Their reinforced outer layer and internal structure provide extra strength. CargoPlus bags can be reused multiple times, making them ideal for logistics operations where durability and reliability are important. For lighter use, CargoSecure bags offer a dependable standard solution that can also be reused two to three times.
Air gun and compressor
To fill the dunnage bags effectively, a compressor with an air gun is required. Each bag type specifies which air gun is compatible. The Navacqs air guns feature a standard fitting and are suitable for nearly all common compressors. For quick and efficient filling, a compressor is recommended with a power of between 2 and 4 HP, a capacity of 500 litres per minute and a tank size of 200 to 300 litres. Smaller compressors can also be used but will take longer to fully inflate the bags.
Securing cargo
The capacity of a dunnage bag depends on its type and size. A 90 cm wide bag can fill spaces up to 35 cm, while a 120 cm wide bag can fill up to 55 cm. Thanks to the strong polyethylene and polypropylene construction, the bags remain stable and airtight under pressure. This makes them suitable for both domestic transport and international container shipping. With the right dunnage bag type, cargo can be secured safely with minimal effort and maximum reliability.
