History
1987 Founding
The history of Navacqs begins in 1987, when Navacqs B.V. was founded on Strevelsweg in Rotterdam Zuid. The company soon relocated to the heart of the Port of Rotterdam, on Pannerdenstraat. The name Navacqs is short for Naval Container Equipment & Services. As the name suggests, Navacqs supplies a range of container essentials, including container seals, container locks, dunnage bags and container lashing equipment. From the very start, Navacqs focused on seals. Through the partnership with Canada Mayer in 1989, the seals range was further expanded, adding a number of cable seals and plastic seals right away.
Navacqs B.V.'s first catalogue featured several products still part of the range today. Seals such as the Tyden Ball Seal and the Metal Flat End Seal have been in the assortment since the very start of Navacqs's history. Over the years, the range kept growing. In June 1993, Navacqs added a new line of dunnage bags that's still part of the range today: the Cargo Guardian dunnage bags.

2004 Navacqs International
In 2004, Navacqs was taken over by its current management. At that point, the company name changed to Navacqs International and the corporate identity was updated. Thanks to its strategic location in the Port of Rotterdam, the company grew significantly and was well positioned for further growth. Fast delivery has always been a top priority for Navacqs International, which naturally calls for ample stock. From 2004 onwards, the company grew to the point where extra sea containers were needed just to store inventory. From the very start of its history right up to today, Navacqs has been based in the Port of Rotterdam, and has made clear it intends to stay there.
2005 New Location
Due to the growth of recent years, Navacqs International moved into a new building at Aploniastraat 78 in Rotterdam. With spacious warehouse and office space, Navacqs International was ready for further growth. Besides its specialism in seals, Navacqs International also began growing its offering of custom straps and lifting slings. It wouldn't, however, be the last time in Navacqs's history that we'd move.

2006 Seal Suppliers vs. Navacqs International
In 2006, a second company was founded: Seal Suppliers. With its own suppliers, this second company allowed the two businesses together to serve the Dutch market with security products as effectively as possible. The two companies collaborated closely. In 2009, it was decided to join forces with Navacqs International and continue as a single company: Navacqs Seal Suppliers.
2009 Navacqs Seal Suppliers B.V.
In 2009, Navacqs International and Seal Suppliers merged into a single company: Navacqs Seal Suppliers B.V. This merger combined the knowledge and network of both businesses, meaning customers could now turn to a single party for an even more complete offering. From that point on, not only did the seals range keep growing, but an entirely new product category was added too: cash bags and secure pouches. This merger laid the foundation for the broad specialist Navacqs is today.

2012 Verzegelingenshop.nl
Online sales at Navacqs Seal Suppliers marked an important step in our history. We launched them in late 2012, under the name Verzegelingenshop.nl: an effective online channel where customers could easily find and purchase the right products to prevent fraud, theft and damage. Besides seals, Verzegelingenshop.nl also offered the range of container and padlock locks. Alongside the familiar online payment methods, it was also possible to buy on account through this channel.
2013 Navacqs Seal Suppliers Berlin
Throughout its history, Navacqs Seal Suppliers has built a solid foundation to keep growing on. In 2013, the company opened a branch in Berlin. From this location, German customers could be served faster and even better. Besides German customers, the Berlin branch also supplies customers in neighbouring countries such as Austria, Switzerland and Poland. Reliable logistics partners like UPS and Raben ensure fast, complete delivery.

2015 A New Course
In 2015, we completely renewed our course. Verzegelingenshop.nl and Navacqs International came together under one central name: Navacqs.nl. Alongside a shorter name, the company also got a new corporate identity and a modern website, better matching the growth we'd experienced in the preceding years. This step brought more clarity for customers and laid the foundation for Navacqs's further development as a recognisable brand in the market for seals, locks and cargo securing.
2020 Moving Forward Together
From 1 July 2020, we've been working together under one roof with our sister company Robetex. This trading company specialises in sampling, sealing, protection and packaging materials, a range that fits well alongside that of Navacqs. By working together, we can offer customers a broader package of solutions. And since both companies already placed personal service high on the agenda, our approach stays the same. This collaboration marked an important step towards the later merger between Navacqs and Robetex.

2021 Office & Warehouse Move
After more than 15 years at Aploniastraat 78 in Rotterdam, Navacqs Seal Suppliers B.V. moved back to the Waalhaven, the area where the company originally began. Both the office and the warehouse have since been based at Albert Plesmanweg 107 A in Rotterdam. The new location offered more space, allowing us to expand the range further and significantly grow our stock. This kept us close to the Port of Rotterdam, where our roots lie.
2022 Robetex Merger
On 1 January 2022, Navacqs Seal Suppliers B.V. and Robetex continued under one name. The two companies had already been working closely together for some time, so this step was a logical continuation of that collaboration. Robetex's full range was brought under Navacqs, meaning customers could now turn to one trusted point of contact for seals, locks and cargo securing as well as sampling and packaging materials. This merger strengthened Navacqs's position as a broad specialist in the market.

2023 New Managing Director
As of 1 September 2023, Ronald Weterings hands over the leadership baton to Arnoud Standaart, who becomes the new Managing Director of Navacqs. After years at the helm, Ronald takes his next step, while Arnoud continues the company's course with the same focus on personal service and quality. Arnoud is by no means a new face at Navacqs. He'd already clocked up 17 years with the company and helped it grow along the way.
2025 Farewell to Verzegelingenshop
In 2025, we closed Verzegelingenshop.nl, our very first webshop from 2012, and brought everything together under Navacqs.nl. Verzegelingenshop was the first to make ordering online possible for both businesses and private customers. For thirteen years, its design remained largely unchanged, and it built real trust with our customers, but technically, the webshop could no longer be maintained. The full range, including all seals and locks, has since been available on Navacqs.nl, with the same trusted contacts and the same service.

2026 New Style and New Site
And with that, we've reached the end of the history tour. In 2026, we gave ourselves a fresh new look. Not a complete makeover, but a restyling of our existing brand. Every house could use a fresh coat of paint now and then, right? Our logo, typeface, and everything that goes with it were renewed. So was our website: the very site you're reading this on. Nick and Julian built this system. It's a lightning-fast, clear website, fully managed in-house and built to fit our own needs exactly. With a bit of luck, new developments will follow quickly below.
