The Twist Seal is a reliable and user-friendly alternative to traditional lead seals and sealing wire. This seal is ideal for gas, electricity, and water meters and consists of a transparent body, a plastic-coated galvanized steel wire (300 mm), and a colored plastic locking cylinder. When the yellow cylinder is twisted, both wire ends are securely clamped inside the housing, making removal impossible without visible damage. After sealing, the yellow tab is broken off to prevent tampering. Each Twist Seal is laser-marked with a unique number for easy registration and enhanced security.
The clear body of the Twist Seal provides full visibility of the locking mechanism. Any tampering attempt is immediately noticeable. The internal cylinder rotates in only one direction, ensuring the seal cannot be loosened or reopened without breaking.
Once the seal is locked, the yellow tab on the outer housing must be broken off. This prevents any undetected adjustments and guarantees the integrity of the seal during long-term use.
The built-in galvanized steel wire has a length of 300 mm and a 1 mm diameter, coated with plastic for added flexibility and corrosion resistance. This design ensures reliability even in humid or industrial environments.
Unlike traditional lead seals that require a tool and separate wire, the Twist Seal can be applied completely by hand. This saves time and increases safety. The unique serial number also enables easy and secure tracking—something not possible with conventional lead seals.
The Twist Seal is suitable for sealing gas, water, and electricity meters, as well as technical cabinets or equipment containing sensitive components. Thanks to the thin 1 mm wire, it fits easily through narrow openings. Note: The installation of seals on utility meters may only be carried out by certified professionals in consultation with the network operator.
Each Twist Seal is marked with the standard text “TSN SEAL” and a unique sequential number. Navacqs and the manufacturer guarantee that each combination is produced only once, ensuring traceability and preventing fraud.

For a meter cupboard, a seal with thin steel wire is used, such as a twist seal. The wire has a diameter of 1 mm and fits through the small openings of gas, water and electricity meters.
The purpose of this seal is to make it visible whether a meter or connection has been opened. As soon as the seal is broken, it's immediately visible that access has taken place.
Applications:
electricity meters
gas meters
water meters
No, an individual isn't allowed to replace a seal in the meter cupboard themselves without permission from the grid operator. These rules are set by the grid operator, who is responsible for managing and securing the connection.
Only certified installers are allowed to apply or replace a seal, and only on behalf of or in consultation with the grid operator.
A missing or broken seal without notification can trigger an inspection.
A twist seal works by inserting two ends of the steel wire into a transparent housing and clamping them by turning an internal cylinder. Afterwards, the small lever is snapped off, so the mechanism can't be used again.
The seal is used to show that a meter, cabinet or device hasn't been opened since it was applied.
Applications:
gas, water and electricity meters
technical equipment with small openings
situations requiring thin (1 mm) wire
The seal can only be removed by breaking it with tools.
Yes, energy meters such as gas and electricity meters are fitted with a seal as standard. This seal is applied by or on behalf of the grid operator and serves to prevent unauthorized access to the connection.
The seal makes it visible whether a meter or connection has been opened. This matters for the reliability of readings and preventing tampering.
Applying and replacing this seal is the responsibility of the grid operator.
A twist seal is a ready-to-use seal with an internal mechanism and unique numbering, while a lead seal with wire is applied by hand using sealing pliers.
With a twist seal, no tools are needed to close it, and every seal carries a unique number. This makes registration and inspection easier.
A lead seal with wire requires separate components and extra steps to apply.
