The Light Duty Pull Tight Seal is a lightweight, flexible plastic seal that can easily be broken by hand. With a low breaking strength of 7 kg, this seal is ideal for applications where quick access in emergencies is essential, such as AEDs, first aid kits, and medical equipment. Despite its lightweight design, the LPT is durable, reliable, and made from high-quality materials for long-term use.
With a breaking strength of only 7 kg, the Light Duty Pull Tight Seal can be removed without tools. This makes it perfect for situations where quick access is critical. The LPT belongs to the category of indicative seals, providing a clear visual indication of tampering without acting as a physical barrier.
The sealing tail of the LPT has a diameter of 2.5 mm, making it thinner than the Medium Duty Pull Tight Seal (2.8 mm). This slim profile offers additional flexibility, allowing the seal to be threaded easily through small openings. Despite its thin design, the seal is strong enough to prevent tampering or reuse.
The locking mechanism of the Light Duty Pull Tight Seal features an insert made of Delrin®, a patented acetal (POM) plastic that serves as a metal alternative. This material is strong, wear-resistant, and capable of withstanding temperatures from -40°C to +120°C. Delrin® prevents wear or particle contamination, making the seal suitable for food processing and medical environments.
The LPT is made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a material known for its strength, stiffness, and chemical resistance. The seal remains reliable at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C and retains its flexibility, ensuring ease of use in various conditions.
The Light Duty Pull Tight Seal is designed for environments where control, hygiene, and quick access are essential. Common applications include sealing AEDs, medical devices, first aid kits, and safety cabinets. With its low breaking strength, contents remain easily accessible while any unauthorized opening is immediately visible.
Each LPT seal is printed with “LPT 10 SEALED” and a unique serial number that is produced only once. This guarantees traceability and prevents fraud or reuse. On request, the seal can be personalized with your company name, logo, or barcode and supplied in a range of colors.

An LPT is a plastic pull-tight seal (a seal you insert through an opening and pull tight) with a breaking strength of 6 to 7 kg that can easily be broken by hand. The LPT is used for applications where the seal needs to be opened quickly by hand.
The LPT has a thin seal tail of around 2.5 mm and a closure with a plastic insert (an internal block that clamps the seal) made of Delrin. The seal is made of HDPE and is resistant to temperatures from -40 to +80°C.
Applications:
first aid kits
AEDs
medical equipment
An LPT seal is used to show whether something has been opened, while the seal still needs to be removable by hand immediately in an emergency.
For example, on a first aid kit. The seal shows whether the kit has been opened. In an emergency, the seal can be pulled off by hand immediately, without tools, so the contents are quickly available.
Typical applications:
first aid kits
AED cabinets
medical devices
An LPT seal has a breaking strength of around 6 to 7 kg. This means the seal can easily be broken by hand without tools.
The lower breaking strength comes from the thin seal tail of around 2.5 mm. This makes the LPT less strong than a 12 kg MPT and a 22 kg HPT.
Comparison:
LPT: 6 to 7 kg
MPT: 12 kg
HPT: 22 kg
You choose an LPT seal when the seal needs to be opened quickly by hand, for example in an emergency. The seal stays in place during normal use, but can be removed immediately without tools.
This type of seal is used when an MPT or HPT is too strong and quick access matters more than extra security.
Typical situations:
first aid supplies that need to be immediately available
AEDs that need to be opened quickly
equipment that's checked regularly
