The SBS PL7000 padlock is an exceptionally strong and durable lock. It consists of a stainless steel body and a hardened steel shackle with a diameter of 14 mm. The cylinder of the padlock is positioned at the top, which means that when the lock is closed, the cylinder is fully protected and cannot be accessed.
Inside the stainless steel housing, the lock features a double ball locking mechanism. When the padlock is closed, both balls engage into the notches of the shackle, preventing any removal. Thanks to its well considered design and material selection, the SBS PL7000 padlock has achieved several certifications, including EN1627, EN12320 and VbV approval.
The SBS PL7000 padlock is designed for long term use and can withstand extreme weather conditions. To maintain smooth operation, it is recommended to clean the lock monthly with a lubricant such as Brunox or WD40. This helps remove dirt and ensures consistent performance over time.
During the design phase of the SBS PL7000 padlock, its dimensions were matched closely to those of the Abloy PL-358 padlock. As a result, the PL7000 padlock also fits perfectly into the Navacqs Cobra Container Lock. The Cobra Container Lock combined with the PL7000 padlock is certified with the quality mark.
The padlock is suitable for securing and locking containers in the transport and logistics sector, as well as for containers used on construction sites. In most cases, the 14 mm shackle fits easily through standard locking hasps.
The padlock is supplied with a key card and two keys. The key card should be kept in a safe place, as it is required to order additional keys. Multiple padlocks can be supplied keyed alike, allowing all locks to be opened with the same key. It is also possible to create a master key system, where each padlock has its own key, but a single master key can open them all.
The PL7000 carries three certifications: EN 1627, EN 12320 and VbV. Combined with Navacqs's Cobra Container Lock, it also gains SCM certification. SCM stands for Stichting Certificering Motorrijtuigen, a recognised Dutch certification mark for anti-theft protection.
Yes. The housing is made of stainless steel and the shackle of hardened steel, making the lock suitable for outdoor use in harsh conditions. To keep it operating smoothly, we do recommend lubricating it monthly with Brunox or WD-40.
Yes. The PL7000 was matched to the dimensions of Navacqs's Cobra Container Lock during the design phase, and this combination also carries SCM certification.
The PL7000 is well suited to everyday container security on construction sites and in transport. Use the Abloy PL358T for higher-risk situations: valuable cargo, maritime environments, or situations where sabotage is a real concern. The difference lies in the cylinder. The Abloy's Protec² disc cylinder withstands manipulation and extreme weather conditions that a standard cylinder cannot handle.
Yes. On request, Navacqs supplies locks keyed alike, so one key opens all of them. A master key system is also available, in which a master key opens the entire system.
