The Cobra Container Lock with SBS PL7000 padlock holds KIWA SCM Heavy Duty certification. Depending on the insurer and the policy, this certification can be relevant for transport insurance. The lock adjusts from 240 to 460 mm and fits all common containers and trailers. It comes with two keys and is available keyed alike on request.
The Cobra Container Lock with SBS PL7000 secures containers and trailers. The Heavy Duty certification confirms its resistance to break-in attempts and weather. Regular cleaning with WD40 or Brunox keeps the lock running smoothly.
The lock has been tested by KIWA SCM, an independent Dutch testing body. Since 1993, KIWA SCM has assessed security products to test procedure MP03. Experts from security, transport and insurance are involved in the process.
The Cobra Container Lock passes twelve practical tests. These include corrosion, dust and frost tests, in which the lock is tested for two hours at -20 °C. Drop tests follow, along with an attack test using hand tools and cordless power tools. The Heavy Duty grade means the lock withstands a break-in attempt for at least 300 seconds.
The supplied SBS PL7000 is based on the specifications of the Abloy® PL358T. The bright red steel housing is matched precisely to the padlock and shields it. Tight tolerances between the parts make the padlock hard to reach with tools.
The container lock consists of a cast steel shackle and a steel housing. Its adjustable design suits different distances between locking bars, so it fits almost any standard shipping container or trailer.
Extra keys can only be ordered from Navacqs on presentation of the supplied key certificate. Each certificate is unique, which prevents unauthorised key copies.
The manufacturer can supply the locks keyed alike, so one key opens several locks. The locks can also be part of a master key system, in which each key opens one lock and a master key opens every lock in the system.
The lock holds the highest attainable KIWA SCM certification: Heavy Duty. Many insurers require this certification mark in their policy terms. KIWA SCM has been testing container locks since 1993 through an independent inspection process.
Both carry the same SCM Heavy Duty certification. The difference lies in the padlock. The SBS PL7000 is a strong choice for everyday use in transport and logistics. The Abloy PL358T has a spring-free Protec² disc cylinder that resists lock picking and freezing. For higher-risk situations or a specific insurance requirement, choose the Abloy version.
The SBS PL7000 is fully encapsulated within the Cobra's red lock housing. The shackle fits precisely through the locking holes, leaving almost no space between the components. Tools simply can't get near it.
Yes. The shackle is adjustable from 240 to 460 mm, so it fits any standard shipping container or trailer.
Spare keys are ordered through Navacqs using your key certificate. This is a card showing the unique key number of your cylinder. Without this card, you cannot order additional keys, so keep it in a safe place.
