Sealing Wire 20/20 Spool

The Sealing Wire 20/20 is the thinnest sealing wire in the Navacqs range. With a breaking strength of 1.7 kg, it breaks by hand, without pliers or cutters. This is why it is used in fire safety: on fire extinguishers, emergency buttons and other equipment that must be ready for immediate use in an emergency. The wire comes on a 400 m spool.

Breaks by hand

On a fire extinguisher, the wire seals the safety pin. A short pull on the pin breaks the wire, so the extinguisher can be used straight away. As long as the seal is intact, it shows that the extinguisher has not been used. A broken wire means the extinguisher needs to be checked or replaced.

20/20 construction: 0.6 mm

A 0.2 mm wire is wrapped around a 0.2 mm core wire, both made of galvanised steel. Because the wrap lies on both sides of the core, the total thickness is 0.6 mm. This thin diameter lets it pass through the small holes in safety pins and push buttons. The wrap holds the wire firmly in the crimped seal.

With seal and NZT-1P

Both ends of the wire go through a seal, which is then crimped with sealing pliers such as the NZT-1P. After an inspection or after use, a fire extinguisher can be resealed in a few seconds.

400 m spool

The required length is cut from the spool for each seal. At 30 cm per seal, one spool gives more than 1,300 seals. This makes the spool well suited to maintenance companies that inspect large numbers of extinguishers.
