Sealing with lead seals is the most traditional and time-tested method of tamper protection. These soft metal seals are used in combination with the NZT-1P sealing plier and sealing wire. Because lead is a malleable and ductile material, very little force is needed to crimp it securely around the wire. The seals are available in two diameters: the standard 8 mm and the larger 10 mm version. A 1 kg bag of 8 mm sealing leads contains approximately 525 pieces, while a 1 kg bag of 10 mm leads contains about 350 pieces.
Using genuine lead seas is one of the most reliable and traditional sealing methods. Made entirely from soft lead, these seals can be easily pressed and formed around sealing wire with a sealing plier. Because of its flexibility, lead ensures a strong and tamper-evident closure. For a more environmentally friendly alternative, plastic sealing leads are available in multiple bright colours.
Lead Seals are available in two standard diameters, 8 mm and 10 mm. The larger 10 mm version provides more surface area for engraving or an imprinted logo.
The combination of Lead Seals and sealing wire offers a flexible and secure sealing solution. The ends of the wire are threaded through the lead, twisted together for extra grip, and then crimped shut using a sealing plier. Once closed, the wire cannot be pulled back or repositioned, ensuring a tamper-proof result.
Navacqs supplies Lead Seals in 1 kg bags. Because the weight of individual seals differs by size, each bag contains approximately 525 pieces for the 8 mm version and 350 pieces for the 10 mm version.
Lead Seals are ideal for securing gas, electricity, and water meters, as well as drums and ATM cassettes. The material is resistant to moisture, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Installation must always be performed by a certified technician in coordination with the utility provider. Private individuals are not permitted to remove or replace seals in meter cabinets without prior authorization.
As an alternative to sealing wire and pliers, the Twist Seal can be used. This plastic security seal requires no tools and includes a unique serial number for added fraud prevention.
