The Ratchet Strap 10 T is the strongest strap in the range. With a 75 mm wide strap and an LC of up to 10,000 daN, it secures heavy machinery, steel structures and concrete elements. The strap is available in 9 or 10 metres, and also in a custom colour and with logo.
The 75 mm wide strap leaves room for a printed company name or logo, which can also go on the label. The strap is available in nine colours, and the hook type and lengths can be adjusted. Lead time is 2 weeks. For large quantities, contacting customer service in advance is advisable.
In diagonal lashing, the strap may absorb 5,000 daN according to EN 12195-2, and in loop lashing 10,000 daN. This equals a pulling force of around 5,000 and 10,000 kg.
Both lengths have a 0.50 metre ratchet part. The loose part is 8.50 or 9.50 metres. The strap weighs around 5 kg.
You use a 10-tonne strap for heavy cargo with high forces during transport, such as large machinery, steel structures or heavy pallets.
It's not just about the weight, but also the forces during braking or swerving. The heavier the cargo, the greater these forces become.
For example: heavy machinery on a low-loader can push forward during an emergency stop. The strap needs to absorb that extra force without stretching or coming loose.
A wider strap spreads the force over a larger surface area of the cargo. This lowers the pressure per centimetre.
With a narrow strap, the same force lands on a smaller surface. This increases the risk of:
cutting into cardboard, wood or plastic
deforming edges
the strap shifting during transport
For example: when securing a heavy pallet of boxes, a wide strap prevents the top boxes from denting or getting damaged.
A longer strap is needed when the cargo is larger, or when you want to use multiple attachment points.
This applies, for example, to:
long cargo such as beams or pipes
tall cargo that needs to be fully wrapped
trailers with attachment points spaced further apart
With a strap that's too short, you can't fully wrap the cargo or reach the attachment points. A longer strap gives you room to position it correctly and build up enough tension.
