In aviation, sealing is used to establish whether catering and duty-free trolleys, luggage and safety equipment have been accessed without authorization. For trolleys and emergency equipment, a low breaking strength is actually preferred, so cabin crew can break the seal quickly and without tools when access is needed, while any unplanned opening in transit remains visible. This makes it possible to trace, for every trolley or kit after a flight, whether it has remained undisturbed or was opened earlier.
