For e-commerce, sealing is used to establish whether parcels and returns have been opened without authorization, between the moment of dispatch and arrival at the customer. This includes sealing parcels delivered by a courier, and returns where it needs to be shown that a product hasn't been worn or used before it comes back into the warehouse. As soon as a customer receives a parcel with a damaged seal, it's immediately clear it has been opened in transit, and the customer can refuse it or hand it back to the courier.
