AED

Sealing an AED makes it immediately clear whether the device has remained unused since its last inspection. While an annual inspection isn't yet a legal requirement, it's widely recommended. After inspection, the AED is sealed, so it's directly visible whether it has been checked and whether unauthorized persons have had access in the meantime. A seal for an AED needs to meet a few specific requirements: a low breaking strength, so anyone can break it by hand without tools in an emergency, a unique sequential number for traceability, and single use so reuse or fraud is ruled out.
