Fire hose reels
Sealing the main tap of a fire hose reel prevents unnecessary use, so the water only flows in an actual emergency. This matters because standing water in the pipe can become a breeding ground for legionella. Sealing is part of the mandatory Dutch REOB regulation, under which a hose reel is sealed after its annual inspection by a certified company. A seal for this application needs to meet a few requirements: an extra long seal tail of at least 300 mm, so it fits easily around the main tap, and a low breaking strength of around 6 kg, so the tap can be opened quickly by hand in an emergency.
Navacqs supplies these seals from stock, standard in red and yellow.
