A seal on a container makes it recognizable worldwide whether it has been opened since closing. For international container transport, this is even mandatory: bodies such as C-TPAT require an ISO/PAS 17712 certified seal, and Navacqs' container seals also comply with the ISPS Code.
A seal for containers needs to meet a few requirements: a high breaking strength that can't be broken by hand, a locking mechanism that can't be reopened after sealing without leaving a trace, and a unique, sequential number for traceability.
