Within transport and logistics, sealing is used to establish whether a shipment has been opened or tampered with along the way, from the moment of loading through to delivery at its final destination. This includes sealing truck doors, TIR cables and containers, so drivers, planners and recipients can check whether the cargo has remained undisturbed during transport. For container transport outside the European Union, this is even mandatory: international regulations such as the US C-TPAT program and the maritime ISPS code require containers to be sealed with an ISO 17712:2013 certified High Security Seal. For transport within the EU, a customs approved seal such as the Tyden Ball Seal is often sufficient.
